Dafuq Is Actually Going On With Tom DeLonge

Dafuq Is Actually Going On With Tom DeLonge

If you’ve been following the wacky tale of Tom DeLonge the last few days, you’ve probably read the “real reason” he left Blink-182 was to focus on investigating paranormal activity and alien life. The juicy scoop came in the form of an interview with Mic magazine, where Special Agent DeLonge spoke of simply not having the time to juggle the major commitments of playing the world’s biggest pop punk band and looking for little green men. ”Dealing with something that’s a national security issue, and you’re being gifted with the opportunity to communicate something you’ve been passionate about your whole life — something that has the opportunity to change the world over time — being a small part of that is enormously important for my life path. But I can’t do everything. I can’t tour nine months out of the year with enough time to do the enormity of what I’m setting out to do.” DeLonge has recently released his debut novel Sekret Machines Book 1: Chasing Shadows, a part sci-fi, part “real-life” tale of UFO and extra-terrestrial phenomenon. He claims to have tapped sources from “within the military and intelligence community” to tell legitimate stories of alien encounters and UFO sightings. Along with the novel, DeLonge will also be launching a multimedia platform in the name of Sekret Machines, which will include further fiction novels, non-fiction novels, music from Angels & Airwaves and an upcoming documentary. However, DeLonge has hit back at the media for misleading fans stating that he in fact did not leave Blink-182 to focus on chasing aliens, and that he’s “talking to Travis about... read more

WATCH: DEFTONES Frontman Chino Moreno Performs Inside Volcano

Oh, boy he went and did it. If you missed our story the other day, we reported that Deftones frontman Chino Moreno was to become one of few musicians to perform inside of a fucking volcano, because why the hell not. The intimate and exclusive performance saw less than two dozen fans accompany Chino into the dormant volcano, located in Thrihnukagigur, Iceland, for part of the Secret Solstice Festival held in Reykjavík. According to festival organisers, Thrihnukagigur hadn’t erupted in over 4,000 years and was completely safe, so the only fire to erupt from the dormant beast was that of Chino’s straight fire mixtape. Getting to the treacherous location was either a two hour hike across lava fields and then a long descent into the volcano itself, or a direct flight via helicopter. Obviously the hike was the cheaper option, but if you’re spending AUD$2700 on tickets then you may as well go the full mile and arrive in style. According to reports from the BBC, Moreno played Change In The House Of Flies, a cover of a Morrissey track (ugh) and a song off the iconic David Bowie album Blackstar. SYDONIA Release New Single, Announce Tour

Melbourne locals Sydonia will be heading on tour to celebrate the release of their third forthcoming studio album. Today, they’ve shared new song ‘Eyes Of Sand’ ahead of hitting the road. The new album, which is yet to be named, is a follow-up from the band’s 2014 effort Reality Kicks and 2012’s Given To Destroyers. ‘Eyes Of Sand’ was produced by the 4-piece themselves, and boasts a heavier, faster, and rougher sound. AS I LAY DYING Want To Wish You a Happy Father’s Day

AS I LAY DYING Want To Wish You a Happy Father’s Day

Disgraced metalcore band As I Lay Dying have been playing silly buggers with social media again , this time updating their profile picture on Facebook and then posting the jolly message “Happy Father’s Day!” The last updates from the band came on Father’s Day 2015, with the same “Happy Father’s Day!” message accompanied by the creepiest hashtag ever, #missingthem. For those living under a rock, frontman Tim Lambesis is currently serving a six-year prison sentence for hatching a plot to assassinate his wife. Lambesis was arrested when he approached an undercover police officer to carry out the deed, leading to his arrest and subsequent incarceration (#missingthem). Who knows if ol’ mate Lambesis is admin of the page, having a gay old time on the bandpage every year in the name of celebrating fatherhood, or if the other non-murderous members of the band are trying to provide a little positivity among the sad story of Lambesis. Whatever the case, it’s a little weird, and realistically you would have thought As I Lay Dying would have long since dissolved and made attempts to bury the band altogether. But, yeah. Whatever. I suppose it doesn’t detract from the message, so uh – happy father’s day, I guess (don’t try and knock off the... read more
