In 2013, actor Macaulay Culkin started a pizza-themed Velvet Underground tribute band, aptly named Pizza Underground. And now, after a two-year long silence (because they were booed offstage one time in 2014), it’s been revealed that the band have been working on an album.
In an interview with The Guardian, Culkin also stated that the upcoming album will feature a children’s choir and a symphony orchestra, and described the project as his “gift to the world”.
About the band itself, Culkin said that “[Pizza Underground is] one of those good ideas you have when you’re drunk, and you wake up and forget about it.” Kind of like when you think you being an actor might be a good idea. But then it isn’t.
Anyway, you can check out some footage from the band’s first concert below.
