In sad news to come out yesterday, THE GHOST INSIDE were involved in a tour bus accident which left some band members seriously injured.
It has also been reported that the driver of the bus as well as some of the occupants of the other vehicle involved in the crash, a semi-trailer truck, sadly died in the accident.
The band were travelling to Texas from Phoenix when they collided with the truck just outside of El Paso. It was confirmed shortly after the incident by The Wonder Years tour manager Dave Summers that all members of the band and crew were alive and well.
The band released an official statement via Facebook later on in the day:
“Thanks to everyone who reached out with concern today. The Ghost Inside was involved in a serious bus accident outside El Paso, TX this morning. All 5 band members + all members of the crew are alive and currently being treated for their injuries. Please keep them in your thoughts as well as their bus driver and those in the other vehicle who did not make it. Unfortunately, all US shows on the Locals Only Tour are cancelled. Refunds available at point of purchase. We will update you more when we can.”
A GoFundMe has been set up by a friend of the band to cover medical expenses for the those involved as well as coverng the funeral expenses for the driver, who according to the page has left behind a young child. Fans and fellow musicians have dug deep for the cause, with metalcore lads Bring Me The Horizon donating a whopping $10,000 (USD).
More to come as the story develops.
