Official statements from bands included in the now cancelled Soundwave 2016 Festival have started to flood in, with NOFX, Bring Me The Horizon, Disturbed and Bullet For My Valentine all taking to social media to provide an update to fans.
Bring Me The Horizon have stated they are ‘gutted’ to see the festival go, and will be making plans to get to Australia to play some shows in the near future.
”We’re gutted to hear the news Soundwave Festival has been cancelled. Soundwave was without a doubt the best touring festival we’ve ever been a part of and we are sad to see it go. For anyone hoping to catch us we are sorry, but don’t fret – we are working on our own headline tour to bring to you lot down under for sometime next year. It’s going to be a special one, so we will see you there!”
Dad-metal superstars Disturbed have also advised they will be returning to Australia soon, much to the disappointment of the wider public.
“We are extremely disappointed that we will not be coming to Australia in January to perform on the Soundwave Festival. Plans are in the works for a more extensive Australian tour and we will keep you posted as soon as possible. See you in 2016!”
This comes shortly after the news that Devil You Know member John Sankey had expressed interest in still trying to get to Australia to play the shows around the time of the festival, with also hinting at the possibility of a crowdfunding campaign being established to make it happen.
