SLIPKNOT Bassist Alessandro Venturella Rushed to Hospital Mid-Set
SLIPKNOT bassist Alessandro Venturella was rushed to hospital mid-way through the band’s show at Hartford, Connecticut (USA) last night.
The nature of the medical emergency is currently unknown, but Slipknot did complete the set as an 8-piece after a short 20 minute break.

Vocalist Corey Taylor addressed the crowd after returning to the stage, saying: “I’m gonna let you know what’s going on right now. I’m sorry to say that our bass player, Alex, had something happen. I’m not sure what happened. He’s being put into an ambulance and he’s going to the hospital right now as we speak. But I want you all to make fucking noise for him. Send him some fucking love. Now, we had a choice to come back out here. We’ve had to modify some shit, but we’re gonna keep on playing for you. It’s what we want, it’s what Alex would fucking want.”

Venturella joined Slipknot just last year, after the band’s original bass player, Paul Gray, passed away in 2010 from a fatal drug overdose.
