You may have missed the news a couple of weeks ago, so to provide an update on the clusterfuck that is SLAVES, guitarist Alex Lyman announced he would be leaving the band after their current tour with Capture The Crown ends in the U.S
Now, in true Jonny Craig half-assed fashion, the band have lazily announced the band is now over, updating their Facebook with the message “Tonight in Sacramento and tomorrow in Santa Cruz are the last Slaves shows EVER. Come send the band off with us.”
The post was met with a mixture of surprise and hilarity, with one fan revealing that “Everyone attending are guaranteed one free laptop!” And another switched-on fan observing that “Nothing with Jonny Craig ever lasts lol”.
Jonny Craig founded Slaves in 2014 with former Four Letter Lie and D.R.U.G.S drummer Tai Wright, along with Lyman and former guitarist Christopher Kim (who left the band last year) and have released two studio albums, the most recent being 2015’s Routine Breathing.
With Lyman reported to be the main composer, it’s no surprise that the band has now announced their demise, although some fans are understandably upset that the band has sprung it on them seemingly out of the blue.
It’s unlikely JC fans will be disappointed for long, however, with the macbook-swindling madman very likely to join or begin another project soon – once he gets the rather sizeable ‘Slaves’ tattoo removed from above his eyebrow of course.
