Following the saucy rumours of ex-Glass Cloud members joining Frankie Palmeri in Emmure, the band has now made it official via a Facebook update last night.
As suspected, both Josh Travis amd Josh Miller from Glass Cloud have joined the band, along with The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza bassist Phil Lockett.
One would have to assume that Glass Cloud is now defunct, with the only remaining member of the band being vocalist Jerry Roush who has been involved with other projects the last couple of years, most notably fronting annoying trendcore band Sky Eats Airplane.
So there you have it ladies and gents. The question remains – will Emmure actually be ny good now? Glass Cloud’s debut album The Royal Thousand had some top quality riffs, so hopefully Travis and Miller will bring some much needed variation to the Emmure mix.
Back in December last year, EMMURE went from popular beatdown edgelords to one-man-band when all members ditched frontman Frankie Palmeri and quit the band, with bassist Mark Davis issuing the following statement to Lambgoat at the time of departure.
”As some of you may or may not have heard, Jesse, Mikael, Adam, and myself are no longer in Emmure. We have decided collectively to pursue other endeavors. We would like to thank the Emmure fans for all the support and love over the years, and to everyone who has help the band on its way, you are all greatly appreciated. Be on the lookout for a new project from the four of us in 2016.”
Never one to let a lack of members or actually being good discourage him, Palmeri is back with a vengeance with Emmure making their debut performance in Oberhausen, Germany on April 22nd with their all-new lineup. Rumours have now surfaced about who may be taking up official duties from keen-eyed fans attending the show.
Fans have more or less confirmed Josh Travis from Glass Cloud and The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza is now playing guitar, and ex-Glass Cloud drummer Josh Miller and The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza bassist Phil Lockett are rumoured to be smashing the tubs and slappin’ da bass respectively, according to reports from Theprp.com.
It will be interesting to see if Emmure will sound anything like their previous incarnation, but with some Glass Cloud and Danza’ members at the helm you can bet it’s going to remain br00tal, especially with Palmeri’s signature edge on topics such as school shootings and punching people dead.
