CRAIG OWENS (Chiodos) Shares Unreleased EP From Grindcore Side Project
American musician CRAIG OWENS, best know as the lead vocalist of post-hardcore band Chiodos, has shared a previously unreleased grindcore EP (titled Empathy Is A Gift – embedded below) from a bedroom side project he and a friend were apparently working on last year.

The side project, called BEA5T, has finally seen the light of day via Owens‘ new subscription-based music streaming service, Cheer Up Kid!, which was launched in January of this year.

“Growing up some my favourite bands were Ed Gein, the Locust, Converge and Botch. I’ve always wanted to do a grind-core thing. My friend Hiram was down to make an album, so we did. He came over and stayed with me for a couple of days in Malibu, and we recorded the entire thing in my bedroom,” Owens stated. “We just wanted to make an album because it felt good – not for money, not for fame – but because we love music, and making art is cool.”
