[NEW MUSIC] Divine Realm – ‘Tritos’ [DJENT]

Official Press Release: From its humble beginnings as a one-man band of multi-instrumentalist Leo Diensthuber in 2010, Canadian instrumental prog metal act Divine Realm have come a long ways in just a few short years. The first Divine Realm material, Mor[t]ality, consisted of only Leo Diensthuber. But shortly after its release in 2013, Divine Realm fleshed out into a full band line-up. Quick to expand their sound with the contributions of new members, the band then dropped a well received EP in 2014 called Abyssal Light. Now that 2016 has begun, the band is finally ready to release their first full-length statement, Tectum Argenti. Tectum Argenti will be released on Tuesday, February 23rd, 2016. Never content to define themselves as adherents solely to one sound, Tectum Argenti draws influence and comparison to prog luminaries such as Pomegranate Tiger, Between The Buried And Me, The Human Abstract, and Animals As Leaders. [NEW MUSIC] Osaka Punch – ‘Stonk’ [PROG ROCK / FUNK]

Official Press Release: Osaka Punch have a “stonk” on for taking the stage. A wise man once wrote of them, “You can’t call (Osaka Punch) a “warm-up” band… They’re more of a “set fire to the stage & hope the next act can still use it” band. Their sound takes me back to a Faith No More era, where sounds and styles blended.” The heavy groove single is the catalyst for the tour and will see the band visiting Melbourne, Sydney, Gold Coast, Toowoomba, Byron Bay, Gladstone and of course hometown Brisbane venues. The single “STONK” was recorded while on a stint in the UK for the band – a trip that taught the band a WHOLE lot about themselves and the band they are in. They returned to Australia with a renewed vigour and a little more street-wise. The track was recorded in the Grammy-Award winning Parr St Studios with Andrea Wright (Elbow, Anathema, Coldplay) and will feature on their debut full-length that will drop in September 2016. A heap of touring and more singles will be released before that time comes – Australia, prepare thyself for the left hook that is Osaka Punch. The growing hype surrounding this act is based solely on a virtuosic high-energy live performance showcasing the group’s ability to straddle any genre from authentic old-school funk to extreme modern metal. This flexibility has caused critics to draw comparisons to Frank Zappa and Mr Bungle, and has already earned them support slots with high-profile international acts and the creme-de-la-creme of the popular Australian scene. Frontman Jack Muzak muses on the upcoming tour, “We haven’t... read more

[NEW MUSIC] Bitter’s Kiss – ‘No One Will’ [INDIE POP]

Official Press Release: Bitter’s Kiss is primarily a vehicle for singer/songwriter Chloe Baker to showcase her talents. Chloe grew up in a home filled with music, with a father who maintained a studio, a guitar collection and a band, and has been active in musical theater for years. Chloe currently attends High Tech, an arts academy in North Bergen, NJ. Chloe has been serious about writing music for around a year, and has worked with her father to record and produce her music over the past several months. The reception has been incredibly positive, with a lot of encouragement to take her efforts to the next level. Chloe uses songwriting as a diary and a means of exploring her world. The track The Rope, for example, examines her feelings about the suicide of a distant cousin from a very religious background and the importance of staying true to one’s identity and finding something personally significant to make life meaningful. Another song, Too Far Too Fast, is a reaction to watching her older sister go off to college and noting how quickly time passes. The magic of Bakers work though is that despite this sad and often strange world she still manages to find... read more
