DISTURBED Score Lowest Selling No. 1 Album on ARIA Charts Of All Time

Everyone’s favourite dad-metal (metal is for bald) band DISTURBED have made Australian record sales history – by scoring the lowest selling album number one album on the ARIA charts of all time, according to reports by News.Com. Just to highlight how stupid the ARIA charts actually are, the album Immortalized debuted at number one upon its original release in August of 2015 with reasonably impressive sales of 8242 units, disappeared completely off the charts and is now back at number one, despite only selling 2140 copies nationwide in the last week. The chart-topping success is due to a horrendously slow sales week, which saw the new Adele album Hello (which has sold more than half a million copies in Australia since its release in November) slump down to number two with a paltry 1995 units sold in the last week. This mean that Disturbed outsold Adele in the past week, which is quite frankly terrifying. Funnily enough, if ARIA factored in compilation albums into their overall sales numbers, the snappy SO FRESH: Hits Of Autumn would have nudged Disturbed from the top spot, which just goes to show that SO FRESH is basically the Nokia 3310 equivalent of compilation albums and could have saved us from such an undeniable tragedy if it wasn’t for those pesky regulations (DEREGULATE..uh…EVERYTHING). So there you have it – terrible band releases terrible album (unless you’re an Arnette-wearing suit/skate shoe combo wearing madman), and because nobody buys CD’s anymore you’ve allowed Disturbed to nab the number one spot by selling fuck-all albums. You should all be ashamed of...

COUNTERPARTS Guitarist/Co-Founder Quits Band

In a surprise move, Jesse Dawson, the co-founder and guitarist from Canadian melodic hardcore legends COUNTERPARTS has left the band. The axeman made a statement via social media, explaining there was no bad blood between him and the band, but is moving on to “find a new path”. ”With no bad blood, I am writing this to announce my departure from Counterparts. I will no longer be playing, writing or touring with the band. I have put everything into this band for the past 9 years of my life and it’s about that time to find myself a new path. All for the better. I have accomplished everything and more through my music, travels, and experiences with Counterparts. Thank you to anyone who has ever supported me and/or the band. Thank you for allowing me to express myself through music on a much larger spectrum than I have ever imagined. Big thank you to the Counterparts boys, the OG Counterparts boys, everyone in between, family, friends, and girlfriend. Thanks for making this come to life. With all that said, I will never stop creating music. It’s just time for me to move on from the project I started when I was 15 years old. Counterparts will continue on without me, so give them all of your support and keep going to shows. -Jesse Doreen has been in the band since their formation in 2007 and helped write the majority of material on all releases so far, most recently their 2015 album, Tragedy Will Find...

BLINK -182 Reveal Some New Artwork, New Song & Album Details Coming

Following the exciting news that they have finished recording the new album and were in the process of finalising the tracklisting and artwork, BLINK-182 are set to release their brand new song Bored To Death tomorrow and have revealed some cryptic new artwork on social media to hype the release. Posted via a series of Instagram posts, the artwork depicts a (so-far incomplete) spooky skeleton behind the wheel of a car while a blonde looks to be in the passenger seat, presumably nagging. We can't wait to see you all at this year's @XGames! Watch the full interview: http://xgam.es/1SdsAvK A photo posted by blink-182 (@blink182) on Apr 12, 2016 at 4:56pm PDT The band are also reportedly revealing more details about the upcoming album tomorrow, their highly anticipated follow-up to 2011’s Neighbourhoods and the first album to feature new member Matt Skiba, following founding member and alien-fanboy Tom DeLonge departure from the band to focus on Angels & Airwaves and writing books about conspiracy theories. Matt Skiba is best known as the founding member and frontman for punk act Alkaline Trio, and I know many Blink fans are anticipating the new album to be their best effort to date, considering the old formula was starting to get a tad stale (Tom DeLonge sucks tbh). We’ll keep you updated when Blink-182 finally drop the new song tomorrow.
