Song Review: In Us We Trust – “Faded”

On a scale of 1 to IUWT, how much do you like breakdownz? I’m actually willing to bet that if you said you like breakdownz as much as the next guys, and these guys were the next guyz, you’d be a fucking liar. Shame on you. Don’t ruin a good day…Don’t hurt Slattz
On to the individual elements of those mosh fest. The screams aren’t too bad, but there are still traces of the undertone present which could be worked on. I’ve definitely heard MUCH worse *cough* Vessel *cough. The highs also lack the consistent power of the lows, so there’s another area of potential improvement. There’s a small clean section, but to be totally honest, it seems tacked on and superfluous to the needs of the song.
The guitars are more or less either 00000 or tri-tonal breakdown chords. When they aren’t that, they are power chords to give some illusion of a chord progression. There’s a bit of discordant lead over the top to give it some sense of not just being breakdownz the entire time, but in all honesty, you still can’t shake that feeling.
That being said, if you are into watching live music, I’m sure this would go off. I can just see a bunch of kids flogging $50 out of their mum’s hooking jar to go to a IUWT show and buy merch, which is what you want. It just doesn’t have all that much appeal outside of flailing your limbs aimlessly in a pit like some sort of strange, scene-kid mating ritual. Sounds average, but at least they are getting laid, which is more than I can say for us at IPHYB

Chris Giacca just may be the worst writer in the world, but it doesn't matter because he probably still has a bigger audience than you, so he is by default automatically right about everything. No exceptions. He's currently writing a novel which will be uploaded in single chapter installments as spoken word on bandcamp. Physical releases will be on laser disc only, limited to 17 1/2 units. Don't ask about the half.
