Band:With Confidence Song: ‘Keeper’ Genre: Pop-rock/Pop-punk Date of release: 05/04/2016 Location: Sydney Reviewer: Harvey Danger For Fans Of: New Found Glory, The Wonder Years, Neck Deep
Sydney pop-punksters With Confidence have this morning dropped their new single, ‘Keeper’.
“I need your help with all of this,” opens vocalist/bassist Jayden Seeley, yelling in a distressed, angst-ridden voice whilst still managing to sound as sweet as his usual self.
The four-piece recently signed to US label Hopeless Records, and this becomes evident when one listens to just how well this song is produced.
Normally, one would expect a review by IPHYB to absolutely dump on a pop-punk band, whether it be for being generic, manufactured, or just straight up shit.
Despite this, the reality is the four-piece’s exceptional songwriting and all-round musicianship make ‘Keeper’ an absolute 5/7 banger.
“But Tosh!”, I hear you pipe up, using the distinctive whine which alerts me to the fact someone is about to object to the fact that one of the most over-opinionated pricks on the internet has an opinion on pop-punk music, “With Confidence fucking SUCK dude!”
Yeah, well, fuck you, you’re not the one reviewing, are you?
I can find no fault with ‘Keeper’, the music, the vocals, the production, all of it is on point.
Objectively, I enjoy the absolute shit out of this song, and give it my highest recommendation.
With Confidence are currently touring Australia, will be appearing on the US leg of the Vans Warped Tour, and their new album, Better Weather, will be out on June 17 through Hopeless Records.
I Probably Hate Your Band is a shitty website full of asshole writers. We do nothing but destroy the hopes and dreams of young bands, and have never offered a single positive thing to the world. /Sarcasm
